"For the preservation of Baynsi Sauka and their culture", the audio Album from Birendra Johari (pangti).

A person who migrated many years ago from the India's Johar Munsyar, Millum village and presently the permanent resident of Rapla V.D.C., ward no. 9, Dumling village of Darchula District, speaking Kumauni Language as mother tongue in family, currently working as officer in Nepal Police, second year student of MA Sociology in Tribhuvan University, 28 years old "Birendra Johari (Pangti)" is very dedicated towards music and was very keen to learn and sing music from his childhood. More than dozen of song recorded so far and working for lagged people and communities, is really hopeful and bona fide artist. We found lots of information about him and his performance in our daily Nepalese News paper and local FM.

On last 28th June 2008, I got an opportunity to become the live spectator of the program organized in Nepal Police Club for the inauguration of Rung Album "CHISYO". On that occasion I found something about him and the purpose behind to produce this Rung Album. Today I am doing the small endeavor to share that moment with Rung societies. I think this will be fruitful for both Birndra and the Rung Culture. Even though it is bit late to write about this program but I recently heard about rungmung.net so I feel compelled to write few words about the program held on Nepal Police Club.

In the program Birendra sang few songs with his co-artist "Pooja Sunwar" and danced enthusiastically on the stage, in front of all the spectators presen there. Pooja also gave him full support to make the ambience musical and pleasant. Talking about Pooja, she is really amazing. She is the girl with very good voice quality and sang very well though the Rung language is entirely different for her. The audio cd album, containing 10 songs, was jointly released by Member of Parliament duo Mr. Gopal Bohara and Pasang Sherpha, Musician Bipin Acharya, other guests Jayram Bohara, Gajendra Bohara, Bhaskar Lala, Naresh Bohara, Bajit Budathoki, Hemandra Bohara, Mohan Yetwal, Krishna Lala, Madan Phirmaal, Dan Singh Bohara, Sukundra Budathoki and the artist Birendra, Pooja and Lal Singh Kalyal. In the program the first M.P. from Sauka Society Mr. Gopal Bohara and the musician Bipin Acharya were felicitated by Birendra for their valuable presence and support. The program was concluded by performing various dance programs by famous artists and with tidbits.

I really enjoyed the program; I don't know how I spent that 3 hours time. Program was mind blowing, I was completely spellbound by the performances. I found more satisfaction than the time which I spent there when I bought 200 Rs cd and listened to all those songs in my home. Birendra and Pooja did fantastic job whereas in 1 song each Lal Sing Kalyal and Biraj Budathoki also did well . Since I can understand the Rung language , I liked lyrics too, really touching songs written by Birendra himself and 1 song each by Bimal Bohara, Juspal Budathoki and Umesh/Givinda Johari.

Birendra told that "his main purpose of this album is to preserve and introduce Rung culture all over the world. He was born and grew up in the same environment so he put forward his steps in this campaign. He had full confidence that all the Byasi Sauka, no matter where ever they are, would like his mission and him too for his struggle".

In my view this is his great Endeavour to produce such album in such an expensive place and also by knowing the consequences of the market result because the Rung people are few in number. This is really a great souvenir for all Baynsi Sauka.

Pooja Sunwar also defines Birendra in her own ways. "She said that he is very enthusiastic and hopeful person. He never seems weary in any situation and very crazy about music. She added that he gave her lots of chance to sing the Rung as well as Kumauni songs and gave big opportunity to perform stage program in Darchula District in a huge crowd. That moment was unforgettable in her life. Whenever she remembered the crowd in Darchula concert she felt that people should like Chisyo album very much".

Artist Lal Singh Kalyal blindly support Birendra to his mission and strongly said that "this is time to support and motivate such a genuine person otherwise it would be very difficult for Baynsi Sauka to find the person like him in future. This is the first album which produced in such a proper way in our own country, this would disseminate the Rung language all over the world but only things is that we should give respect and proper support".

In my personal feeling, "such effort of the youth like Birendra to preserve the culture of minor communities and society is really appreciable. This is the responsibility of all related people to respect such person and support to motivate his work".

During this program "M.P. Mr. Gopal Bohara encouraged him for his appreciable work and expects more other rung album in near future". But it is hard to achieve by the effort of single person. You should help him directly or indirectly. I think all people who belong to Rung culture should buy at least 1 audio cds of Chisyo album; this would be the gift from our side to the artist.

He is still in dilemma said that yes he produced the album but he is confused with market management and other related things. He mentioned the names of welfare institution like Byasi Sauka Samaj, Rung Kalyan Sanstha, Rajakoth Yuwa club, Rapla Yuva Jagaran club and expects help from them. He also requests to all ladies and Gentle men who belong to this community for proper support.

Finally, I think that "this is the time to become conscious about your culture and put bricks together in the process of making dream home, for this you should promote the Rung album “CHISYO” as an initiation". Thanks.
