Here is a Dainik Jagran report on UKD starting to get active for elections and this is the begining of political tamasha.... we are guessing that there are not many rung mung standing in these elections.
On 1st March Indranagar Sector of Dehradun hosted sector meeting for Dehradun RungMung at newly developed colony "Panchachuli Enclave" in Kailashpur village near ISBT .
Meeting also served as RKS meeting and following issues were dicsussed :
Possible dates for Mini AGM in Bareilly in April 2nd Week ( subject to election dates)
RKS Youth wing formation
Information was shared about some of the workds sanctioned for Dharchula Area under Border Area Development Program (BADP)
Pangu School gets fund for renovation of furniture and sports facilities
Rung Milan Kendra Library gets fund for books purchase
Some other construction works also get fund in Dharchula
Rinlaiba issue will be published for this mini AGM
We recently got a chance to meet Shri N S Napachyal ji (Additional Chief Secretary, GoUk), Patron of Rung Kalyan Sanstha alongwith Shri Arvind Hyanki ji whoc is Secretary RKS. We had a discussion about procurement of the books for Dharchula Rung Library ( detailed info in Forum ).
Shri Napalchyal Ji suggested that we rung mung should work on getting Shri Ratan SIngh Raypa ji's book translated into English so that it can get wider audience. This translation also would give us a chance to update the book in today's context. We have two options
Get It translated by professionals : this has a problem of translators not being from rung culture hence not getting the nuances right.
Rung Community people should volunteer and translate the book : here issue is who would come forward and if the people would have good command over the language.
We were hoping that a few youngsters can take up the task and under the guidance of Shri Napachyal ji and other able people. This can be a good collaborative effort for all of us.
This news item appeared in Dainik Jagran 2 days back and we are just wondering as to why there is no representation of Rung Mung. Not that we are suggesting only Rung but we do know that there are Rung people playing badminton in Dharchula.
