It is great to see that folks in Dharchula have now better access to the web and have embraced rungmung.net.. thanks to Gajju Hya and Krishna Garbyal Hya, news, photos and content contribution have already started coming in from Dharchula..
it's wonderful to see people taking strides to make rungmung.net a more relevant source of all rung related content for the diaspora away from home.. especially for people that do not have the luxury to travel home every few months.. more so every few years in my case...

Just wanted to throw in few thoughts on how users in Dharchula could be more involved with rungmung.net...

1) Add events happening in dharchula (date, event (badani, dhaami, shraad, meetings, puja etc.)
2) Daily/bi-weekly blogs on current happenings... Gossip overheard at the chai dukaan, latest in dharchula fashion, local politics, etc...
3) Photos of recent dhaami/gatherings/events etc..
4) A live webcam streaming of Ghandhi Chowk... hmm.. this might be a bit far fetched but still doable with right resources.. how many of you think it would be an invasion on privacy??.. please chime in..

We may be can now hire a full time rungmung.net correpondent in Dharchula/Darchula and pay in terms of contents/pics sent.. Everyone wants to make that extra little cash.. right?? Any thoughts..

sorry m taking dis topic away frm its circle, bt heard dese dys dharchula kids hav huge demand fr FM players or inbuilt fm-station catching mobiles as Darchula have some Nepali fm station ?? (something called "kalapani" .. no idea jst asking out of curiosity as i heard some rung ppl discussing it ... !!

Plus as far streaming of video frm gandhi chowk is concrnd, evn i think its achievable (similar to streaming of various important streets being done already in webworld), idea is great bt needs to be discussed technically plus financially..!! ...

I went to dharchula for a quick visit, just 1 day!! Didnt have time to see broadband in action. Though I saw that Rung Community School had installed unlimited broadband. Next visit we should try something!!
