It’s just to get a little bit of idea about our places. Hope you enjoy reading more than feeding it as a news in your system, these news are not a report, these are mere a Suna Hai-Dekha hai sort of. More to say it’s true at many points of view.
Do let me know if you find any of the messages untrue.
• Kuti shop destroyed in an avalanche: A large no. of glacier damaged Kuti village, till now news of one damaged shop was informed by ITBP personals (owner of shop is someone with name Manya or sth like that).
• A Kailash Garbyal-funded programme: ‘Kalika Temple Construction’ in Kalika village, which is under construction, construction is almost going to be completed. For them who are unaware of it: Mr. Kailash Garbyal has provided fund (around 5 lakhs) for the Temple construction.
• Khanduri inside Dharchula’s Taxies: No music system is allowed in taxies, and on front seat one partition is made between driver and other two passengers’ seats, so that third passenger couldn’t be allowed. Little funny, partition is made by metal rods and it’s been named Khanduri as Uttarakhand Government has passed this rule of partitioning. Even no lady passenger is allowed on front seat.
• What’ll happen with Dharchula based employers: You might have heard of CM B. S. Khanduri’s military sort of rules in our state (only Rs 3000/-- is being given to officers using govt. vehicles, teachers are ordered to teach in their respective schools etc.). For not acting officially in proper way, recently, he’s suspended some of the Pithoragarh based employers. Now I think that some day when CM enters our areas, what’ll happen with Dharchula block people (as corruption is on high level, it is hard to prepare documents without offering them anything), what’ll happen with teachers as they have been enjoying incomes without teaching everything, and many other examples...
• Kuncha in Darma Valley: Kuncha is started migrating to Darma Valley.
• Motor Road in our Areas: Earlier, Kailash Mansarovar Motor Road has been sanctioned to start, and Darma Motor road is yet to get permission from HC. (Darma Valley is mentioned Mrig Vihar Area and construction of Motor Road will be going to take place till place named ‘Daave-Bidang’ (ahead of Seepu---Indo-Tibet border)), (Few years back Govt. provided bicycles in Tidang-ITBP-camp with the help of Helicopters, by the time bicycles are not in use as there is no road provided to run them, and was made useless by ITBP personals itself as they used to run it on open area, just for fun, so benefit couldn’t be given to ITBPs)
• Mini Buses to Pangu and Narayan Ashram: In forth coming days, mini buses plying between Dharchula & Pangu, and Dharchula & Narayan Ashram will be seen. Nowadays only taxies (Sumo, Commander etc.) are available. In case of mini buses ticket also will be lower than Taxies (Commander, Sumo etc.) though road is under construction.
• Sad News : On April 5, 2007, my Puma-Tayee Ji, Late Mrs. Doli Devi Dugtal passed away at Gothi, she was 77 year old. I think death in one’s own house and village is the most peaceful death when the one is very old and ones’ all near and dears are present on the occasion. Thanks to all my relatives and villagers who shared griefs with my family and helped us on this sorrow moment.
That’s all for now!!
Please do inform me thru comments if my blog sounds untrue at any point..!!

One of the few remarkable things about us rung mung is the way we remember gods all the time. Even when we sit to have a drink or two and as many do even when starting their daily meals. Sometimes the kind of hardships we all have to go through seem so unjust against this backdrop.
Today i am compelled to invoke the name of gods as there are two of our dear brothers, in the hands of our gods.
Last night I got news that my Michini's ( Phuphoo's) eldest son Bhoopal hya was struggling for his life at Army hospital in Delhi. His family has been struggling earlier with breast cancer of his wife. I must say that they really showed remarkable courage to go through all that already. Its so strange how fate strikes us when we least expect it to. In february he was all well when he had been transferred to Jhansi and had got leave to go home. He made it a point to meet all the relatives on his way by stopping for a day in each place. Now it seems day before he fainted at work and then had to be airlifted to Delhi!! apparently it is brain haemorrage due to high blood pressure.!! may god help him and all of us who pray for him.
Also i have to share with all of you the news about ill health of Harish Rautela Ji. Ever since my childhood days i remember him as a do gooder. Living a simple life, having no vices and always ready for social causes. For last 5 months he hasnt been well. These days he is admitted in Base hospital Haldwani.
Lets all pray the gods to show his merci and may both of them be with us for years to come.!! hay pyamsare!

Taking a look at our contsituency, Munshyari –Dharchula constituency …… there were many contenders for this seat. Sitting MLA Gagan S Rajwar ( a.k.a. Rajwa, as an independent after being denied a ticket by Congress ), so called Fire Brand lady Smt. Sakuntala Datal (Congress), Shir Kundar S Tolia (BJP), Tiger Garbyal, Hoshiyar Khair, Kutiyal, Chandu Khair, Khampa & few more …
But final result shocked many … Rawja proved his political acumen beating his nearest rival Shri Kundan S Tolia by more than 5000 votes. Nobody expected that he’ll take away cake this easily.
5 years back, a man from nowhere, was brought by few wise ppl to field him as MLA candidate from our constituency. To be precise....he was just a pawn to those people. With large mass support from non rung community... he won that election with record margin. That man was non other than Gagan S Rajwar...much to the frustation of Rung mung who were looking for their polictical graph to shoot up after Dharchula- Munshayari Constituency was declared reserved. Man who never happened to see a train before was talk of the town… on the front page of every newspaper.
Those 5 years as MLA....I don’ t know how much development work he carried out in our constituency & frankly speaking his winning this election was doubtful coz most of those wise people (non rung big-wigs) were supporting their respective party candidates.
5 years gone....he was still regarded as a mere puppet who doesn’t know ABC of politics. He proved everyone wrong. Those 5 years as MLA, he mastered the rules of playing the game of politics & fought this election of his own. He knew how & where to hit the right cord.
Hope Rung Mung learn a lesson or two from this election. Specially those who are looking for an opportunity to make big in this arena, must look at this persona closely & learn, who rose from nowhere & elected for the second consecutive term as MLA.
First term was a fluke, but second was not ……
Frankly speaking, I didn’t come across his election agenda ….. Anyway who cares….!!!!
One needs to have strong root to grow big ……which our so called rung politicians lag….
They need to look beyond Byas Valley, Chaudas Valley & Darma Valley. Non of these valleys are as politically fertile as Whalan valley.
It’s a wake up signal to those rung who dream to put MLA tag before their names.
& I sincerely wish Rajwa gets minister tag & comes out with development programmes..…. Forget dharchula ….. but atleast to those villages who made him win twice……
& Well in between thinking of Rung MLA from Dharchula …..???????
I am just 26, but not in my lifetime though…..[:]

Certainly first part of this is true for most of our Rung Mung these days, specially the ones who are net savvy. I was just going thru the orkut rung groups, believe u me there are plenty these days, was glad to see the number of them first. i could see that people are quite active on the net, at least a special bunch.
i compare this to activities on rungmung and tend to see that we get visitors every day but most are happy to glance thru things and max one can expect is comment or two on the pics, a couple of dedicated members who use blog, forum and shout box.
Is this because forums like these connect to a broader non-rung community out there? One gets to see best( though not always) of both worlds?
I am not trying to be judgemental of people but just trying to figure out as to why there arent more people trying to make home a better looking place....
maybe its one extra login that is difficult to cope up with.. or maybe nauksum comes in the way... or its better to eat out then cook a meal .. and then sit all by yourself to eat it too :)
p.s. : guys dont take it otherwise.. i do feel these pangs only once in a while...but then something pleasantly surprising happens in the site which affirms my faith in our rung mung...
