Came across this thru indiauncut again!! it was a carrom game but i think players didnt have sportiness on their mind “It was Umesh’s striker and he didn’t want to share with us. There was a little quarrel over that and we stopped our game and came back to our homes in Ambedkar Nagar. Umesh stays in Tanaji Nagar. After some time, Umesh came to our locality with a lot of people and assaulted us with knives and swords,” more here was picturing many around the corner games we used to see in dharchula....

came across one nice site with some computer history. oldcomputers.net has so many of these old computers catalougued. another site worth going to is computerhistory.org which has many of the odl copmuter sales catalogues, dating back to 1950. this is IBM5155 : probably first portable computer IBM portbale this is compaq's first portable computer compaq portable and this is word's first computer with mouse.called alto developed by paolo alto research centre of XEROX. you guessed it right.... i am talking about portugal vs. netherlands... as netherlands.. landed their shots neither here nor there....and portugal made the most of the one goal advantage one wouldnt expect a bull fight like scenario. with 20 cards one would expect that school game was under progress and refreeing lessons were being given. cards were meant to check the rash game and i think here cards didnt look like fulfilling their purpose. refereee photo : courtsey fifa wolrd cup site at yahoo i was wondering what this referee would be like in real life ( i guess image of karan thapar isnt too far from it :) )

Karan Thapar vs. Rahul Bajaj

i know this isnt rungmung concerning topic again but as i found it quite interesting i thought it would interest our regulars here. Many of you may not remember Karan Thapar from doordarshan days. those days we were forced to watch only 2 channels and there used to be weekly intervews by karan thapar. Most of these used to end up being quite unpleasant for the interviewee as Karan Thapar can sometimes irk you to death with his so called persistence. Many times one would wonder if person being interviewed would lose his cool and slap Karan Thapar, thankfully that never happened. i think later he had sobered down his approach and did interviews on BBC where the famous Kapil Dev crying happened ( hmmm if that ever was Karan Thapar's ambition to make a grown man cry in his interviews ). here i came across in a blog indiauncut a recent interesting intrview of Rahul Bajaj.... ----------------------------------- Karan Thapar: But do you accept that today you are in politics? Rahul Bajaj: Of course not. Karan Thapar: Why not? Rahul Bajaj: What makes you say that I am in politics? Karan Thapar: Because you are an MP. Rahul Bajaj: So? Karan Thapar: MPs are in politics. Parliament is politics. Rahul Bajaj: That is what you say. Is there a law anywhere? Can you show it to me? Karan Thapar: That is a common understanding of the term. Are you changing that understanding? Rahul Bajaj: There are many common understanding of terms which are wrong, which Gandhi changed. Karan Thapar: You have said repeatedly to people who have interviewed you that you will not join politics, but you have. Rahul Bajaj: No I have not joined politics. I have joined the Rajya Sabha. I am delighted to be in the Rajya Sabha. Karan Thapar: But the Rajya Sabha is a part of politics, Mr Bajaj. Rahul Bajaj: Being a citizen of a democracy you are also part of politics Mr Thapar. Karan Thapar: No, being a citizen of a democracy is not what joining the Rajya Sabha as an MP is. Why are you so reluctant to accept that? I have repeatedly heard you saying in interviews that independent MP’s are not politicians but you are completely wrong. Rahul Bajaj: I never said anything of that sort. I have repeatedly said that I have no desire to get into politics. Karan Thapar: But you have just got into politics. Rahul Bajaj: I have not got into politics. If I got elected in a party ticket or if I decided to work for a political party if I decided to work in villages if I decided to make slogans of garibi hatao, with no desire to do that, all that I will not do. I have not taken any obligations from any party. I don’t want to be obligated. Karan Thapar: Mr Bajaj you are wonderful with words but the problem is that you are short on logic. Parliament and being an MP is part of politics. Rahul Bajaj: Where did you go to school Karan? Karan Thapar: Is that relevant? Rahul Bajaj: It is very relevant because your logic is illogical. Karan Thapar:If it is relevant I will tell you. I went to Doon School, Cambridge, Oxford and I know a lot about politics. Rahul Bajaj: I went to Cathedral, St. Stephens, and Harvard, slightly better than you in every respect. So I understand logic. But I am a humble man unlike you. Karan Thapar: I am not sure you are showing humility at the moment. You are showing a lot of defiance. Rahul Bajaj: The audience will judge that. More on IBN

today i think i did more than my fair share of browsing... normally i browse our site rungmung and then follow a few indian blogs then these days have started to check out google news as well. google news is quite informative. today i ended up on another site called "digg" from there. digg.com is interesting for science and tech news ... it was very interesting to go through so many interesting things that are happening in the world today. then i somehow ended up on the site of ncomputing as well. these guys are bringing back the concept of thin client terminals into the computing world. as today's normal pc is many times faster than some of the main frames of decades back, they have worked out technology which allows one pc to be shared by many users at the same time or even be accessed from anywhere in the world. they are trying to bring in these things someday to $10 per box !!! as of now i think a box sells for 250 usd. i think one has to add the cost of monitor + software + mouse+ keyboard. this would typically suit some small office and school environment where one can buy a pc and add these terminals. but to suit indian market one would have to bring price to that dream range of usd 50-100 and then it would make sense. while writing this i was wondering if there is any site which gives current prices on PC components and finally i found one here....delta peripherals using this data i was trying to figure out how much a decent PC would cost . here is my thought components ( price INR ) intel 2.8 ghz processor (4750) decent mother board (3500) hdd 80 gb (2450) combo drive (1450) RAM 512 mb (2350) case (1200) mouse (475) keyboard (425) monitor 17" (5250) total (21850) that makes it almost 500 usd!!! as of now industrywide attempts are on to make usd 100 machine... lets see when that happens and then where the thin client terminals would stand .. one would still find thin client terminals short on may things...! the cheap doesnt come without cost( feature) cutting.

Chapter III

*One more chapter @ category Godfather.. :) Godfathers are our parents, our elders or the people who guide teenager (not in the sense of miss-guidance)… I guess, no way, an individual (child) is the only culprit for any unauthorised activity. Here, I am just trying to clarify my sentence "If anyone's to blame they are none other than our elders" Two real and common stories:: • A child (10 to 12 year old) entered in a house, no one from that house was aware of that new entry, after some time the child ran way. Family members saw him and thought "why the hell that child is running away from our house?" They checked their house very finely and found that one electronic equipment was missing. Immediately, they asked his parent "X equipment is missing from our house and we saw your child was running away from our house, so could you please enquire your child that he has stolen that X equipment or not?" The reply from parent was such that "My child never does so and how the hell are you blaming him?" The sentence "My child never does so" is okay. But in place of enquiring activity of that child, parents were fighting them and some how parents were supporting that child. • Two children involved in fight, one got more injury than another one, okay did. After some time parents, in place of "enquiring real cause of fight and giving them suggestions, like don't do it again". A new scene arose there that their parents started fighting each other. What the hell are they setting example there? Are they showing "Beta Ladai Aise Karate Hain"? Although there are many stories to write … I have been heard from many people "Itani Chhoti Si Baat Ke Liye Itana Bada Pahad Khada Karane Ki Kya Jarurat Hai" But I find most of the time, there is a trivial reason behind a big clash. That is where, a child of Dharchula Region is misguided by misguided one and chain goes on and on. Some one has to come up and need to break the link…. to be continue….:)

Who will Win FIFA 2006?? I found this in a message... I don't know who made this all calculation.. Brazil won the world cup in 1994. Before that, he had won this title for the last time in 1970. If you add up: 1970 + 1994 = 3964 Argentina won the world cup for the last time in 1986. Before that only in 1978. And 1978 + 1986 = 3964 Germany, though, won the world cup in 1990. Before that, Germany won in 1974. Look: 1990 + 1974 = 3964 This could lead us to guess the winner of the World Cup in 2002, since it should be the winner of the 1962 World Cup (In fact 3964 - 2002 = 1962). And Brazil won the world cup in 1962! (And, in fact, Brazil won the 2002 WC) This numerology seems to work... And now, who would be the winner of the 2006 world cup? Let's see, 3964 - 2006 = 1958 And who won in 1958?.... Oh, Brazil did!!! Am I going wrong anywhere then tell me Bomb bomb booba..:) ChEErS..!!..:P :D Take it easy..:).
