What a day!!!!

This morning, I was headed to school as usual but something unusual was the stormy weather. It was terribly windy and rainy through out, with gusts of winds blowing at more than 50mph and the continuous rain of course made it worse. After attending two classes, which I would have never attended if I didn’t have a quiz, I had to bounce back home as I was soaked from head to toe. And guess what, I know it sounds funny but, I was having a hard time walking because the wind was blowing so hard that it was pushing me to the another corner of the sidewalk. I hadn’t witnessed such a bad rainy and windy day in my life. I couldnt help laughing when I realized that wind was literally pushing me back and forth. I imagined myself as one of those skinny cartoon characters who get blown away with the wind. It’s probably hurricane Wilma’s effect.I just hope it doesn’t get stronger.

Today Condileeza Rice was in her birth city, apna Birmingham. She was on a 3 day visit to Alabama. She visited the church where in 1963 four black students were killed in a blast, one of them was her friend. I learnt one more fact today, Rice is 50 yrs old, doesn't look that old. This church is quite close to where we live. If i had no school i would have gone to catch a glimpse of Rice. Krish Hya you have read the Namesake, now have you read Condi Vs. Hillary: The Next Great Presidential Race, have read interesting reviews on it. Though i am not that much of a reader but these 2 books i surely am gonna read this winter.

Kripya dhyan dey, Delhi sey Dharchula jaane wali gaadi platform number ## sey jayegi. What ever it may be the new pic recently added has been speeding up like the shatabdi express. Two days and more than a 100 views and tonnes of comments, WOW! The rungmung is the platform and we intend to keep the train running to Dharchula. Apart from a few anonymous comments it has been good all through. The intercaste marriage polls heated up the chatrooms along with the website during the month of September, now its time for another summer. While we approach winter, rungmung.net should still be heated up with comments and arguments. Hope this website is intrumental in bringing good changes in our society while keeping up to our traditions.

Growing up ....

I was going thru new uploads in photo section. There are some nice photos of our young ones. They all look like ( or try to look like) latest bollywood sensations. This i guess is the trend that has gone on for generations in our little town. There was time of rajesh khanna, amitabh...now it is turn of the rithiks of the world. When i look back to my adolescence days, i think maybe i too was wanting to do all that but couldn't do it as my parents didn't have money to accessorize me back then. But i think given the choice between these accessories and sports equipment i normally would have gone for sports equipment or books. ( i did hanker for my first pair of jeans and disco shirt for a long time though ). What makes me ponder over this major preoccupation of young ones with fashion and other things is that all this is alright as long as they also follow their passion. Everyone should have some passion in life, some driving force. looking like rithik will help only when you can achieve what rithik has achieved or at least 10% of it also will do in real life. In my opinion this the balance is what is missing in our dharchula environment. As you see the children of people who are staying in cities they are better balanced in their approach to life but in dharchula we still have children whose minds are fogged with different ideas ( excepting the idea as to what they want to do and realization if they have the talent to do it or not). I indulge in this thinking aloud process, if my thoughts echo with yours , i hope maybe you could make difference to the life of someone you know. I remember advising a few of the young friends many years back and I am happy to see that some found right direction in life and have managed to achieve something for themselves. The credit is all due to them for what they did to achieve the results, i am just happy to think maybe some of my words or deeds played a miniscule part in it. Just hoping for a day when i go back to dharchula and see it as a town with young people buzzing with energy and activities that would change their own and our community's future for better.

we had earlier put out the list of words for animals etc. the basis of this wordlist work has been the modified shusha font and lipi system proposed by pushakr singh kutiyal ji. we are using this system currently as it lends itself to easy handling for us geeks :) here is the excerpt of what he had proposed earlier and same was published in amtikar 2004 as well. posho kute lipi keyboard layout u can see the more detailed version of keyboard layout of actual shusha fonts here : http://www.abhivyakti-hindi.org/abhi/shusha_keyboardplus_ss.jpg ( as per this document shusha font copyright is with one mr. harsh kumar, CMIT Konkan Railway)

Sitting down in my Engineering Problem Solving class, the most boring class where i donot have to pay any attention to what is going on or even do not have to attend the class. Half of the class is absent and the rest who are in the class most of them are not even listening to what is going on the class. I am doing my biomaterial lab and rakesh is doing his biomaterial homework, the dude next to me is playing games on his cell phone and the dude infront of me is playing cards on his computer. This class is a total waste, havent learnt anything. Day after tomorrow is the midterm exam for this class and i dont even know how many chapter we have covered and whats gonna come in the exam. Tonight i have to browse through my book. The teacher of this class is old and have heard that he is suffering from symptoms of alzhiemers. He makes us do the lecture for the chapters and solve the problems on the board. Speaking in class and doing problems is no problem with me, but one got to know whats going on, no one's clear on teh fundas of the chapters. Good that i was a math student in high school, atleast i have a touch on statistics, probability etcto help me with this class. No hard feelinfs for the professor, just that i feel i havent learnt anything in this class and i dont want to waste my money on it, if i dont get to take anything from this class. A fellow student just gave a lecture on Cauchy Riemann Equation and these are the only three words that got into my mind, rest just breezed over. Now another dude is trying to solve a problem on the board, he too not sure what he is doing. I guess that is enough of bitching and now i should listen to the professor as he is going to tell us the chapters that are going to be covered in the 2 exams ahead of us. Tonight i am sure to open my book and study for it.

In case you would like to see how it works... we shall post the key list as well.. soon... check this out (hope it works, if u cant see the image please inform admin): runglo for animals/birds/ insects
