As this was my first AGM I was pretty much excited. I even had to really tear myself away from Dehradun as event was falling on weekend but travel would require me to be away from work on four working days. Even wifey didnt approve of such a short trip for AGM only.

Anyway I did make it to Dharchula on the eve of the AGM. I decided to rest a bit but was told that Rung Quiz was in progress. As we had to do "shime-tankao" pooja I couldnt go immediately. After dinner me and Suresh took a stroll to Talli Bazar. These days the area near Post Office is hub of Dharchula nightly activities.During my last trip I had seen a lively cricket tournament take place there and this time also it was veneue for Quiz and 7-a-side cricket tournament.

As usual there was good gathering arund the open air venue.. all makeshift. I somehow cant understand as to why quiz cant be held indoors which would help separate the teams from the audience. I hope next quiz will be more systematic.

It was quite crowded and only way to get a view was use someone's balconey .. so we watched it from Suresh's balconey. Audio too had its own problems as questions were not clear at all. All this notwithstanding quizmaster, participants and crowd seems really happy. Dharchula started looking a bit like town of my memories when rug faces used to outnumber outsiders.

Finally quiz got over around 11 pm and I walked back home. Only to come across a few Khotilla boys making their way back home. One of the boys was left a bit behind. What he did took me by surprise..he was abusing his friends anyway for leaving him behind.. then suddenly he picked up a brick and hurled it towards his friends!! What can I say?? I think this is the regular way of being friendly these days.

I met one more person who was going back to Khotilla at that hour after participating in the quiz ( imagine crossing Ghatkhola at midnight!!). A bit of smalltalk with him revealed that winning team had unfari advantage as one of the boys had earlier helped quizmaster in framing the questions!!
