I never knew I would start blogging with these thaughts .....
since the day govt proposed the 49% reservation in IITs and IIMs ...any public forums ,related to career or education,I login I find strong hatred for govt and for us as well..
a post below was strong enough to challange my soul, to hit my feelings, to destroy my selfesteem:
we all know, politicians are shameless, are evn the SC/ST'S and OBC's shameless for such a deal.
india will surely lose its brains in brain drain if it continues with these oppressive policies.according to me there shouldnt be any reservations at all, why cant the SC/ST's and OBC's come for a open competition, in wat way are they distingiushed in soceity today.and offcourse if this is being implemented IIT's and IIM's are just any other institutions.
and this is very natural.... They are not wrong at any point.
I hate hatred...
I feel guilty...Bcoz We are the reason.
I've signed few of the online petitions against the dicision...I feel like "how selfish I am? ..apna time nikal gaya to ab nahin chahiye ..!!"
My friends(general) often talk on this topic. I don't say (or can't say much)..but I support them.
God, this time it's too much. We already have enough.
Moreover ...the fact is, who gets the share of pie? Does the real needy get it? Anything I say here would become a issue.
I pray, I hope this bill is not passed.

49% damnnnn, thats a lot. 1-2% is fine but 49 thats a lot and sure this should never happen. i may not fall into the top category, but the ones talented deserve a good result of their hard work and brilliance.

Reservations r a boon to our society but almost 50%...that is just tooooo much!!! though reservation has helped us to get where we are today but we must not forget dat the cirmustances were different then..r elders really needed to come out and see d world which they did and hence we are here..But today the case is dfferent..we are at par wid our fellow general category friends in terms o education & resources (on an average)and are capable enough to do anthing dat they can..& dat too wid equal finesse!!I think reservations r doin more bad to our society than good..they'v killed our confidence to such a level dat we can't imagine gettin anywhere widout them..we hav literally started bankin on them!!Though d fact is there are such limited seats dat it is hardly o any help to us...infact d chances o gettin through places is slimmed down instead o d contrary...and d worst part is r fellow whalen students think we hav som nice time and stil manage to get through and no wonder they look at us wid scorn..But now the time has come when we shud get rid o dis artificial backbone and get some real confidence and self-respect..i mean we can't let those ppl say all dat crap to us..!!Unless we try to walk widout crutches we will never know if we can walk fo real!!

my dear friends, i feel very proud to see that we r now capable of doing all the things what people of general category can do. but can u imagen how we came to this position ? obviously our parents got the oppertunities through this kind reservation.
what do u think how much % of rung people have came out of dharchula and leaving in good cities. it will be just 10 to 15% and these people may be capable to give good education to their kids but just think about 90-85% of those who are still leaving in the villeges or in dharchula and those kids who r studing in GUNJI SCHOOL n GARBYANG SCHOOL.they are still going school with CHOCK AND PATI (WOODEN BOARD, U MAY NOT BE KNOWING THIS TERM). we campare the lifestyle and education level with general candidates or those rung leaving in cities. NO NO NO
so friends if u realy dont want reservation please dont claim it but let it be there for those who realy need it.
BUT NO BODY WILL DO THIS, EVEN THESE THREE BRIGHT RUNGs.

look at it this way that we need the equal opportunity in academic arena. reserevation once was a means to break the social barriers to this route. now it has become part of vote bank politics. what government cant improve by rule of law, it wants to do by easy way out for themselves.
i have been saying all along that more we depend on government jobs more we would fall for the crutch and more we go for the private sector or entrepreneurial area we have no need to even think like that.
before 1962 there were no such crutches used by rung people( this is my guess) only after tibet trade got stopped rung mung started to look at jobs and jobs then were in hands of government as it was nehruvian policy of state run socialism.
so i guess we have it in ourselves to do well on our own merit. when i was in school i think i was good at my own with rest of the class even in engineering though i wasnt totally academic but if i put myself to any subject i fared as good as the rest who came through a rigorous competition there.
so the best approach would be this that younger lot starts to compete in mainstream and look for careers that dont even have this option and prove themselves as per their passion and talents. we have also poor among us and if they can get this help i am not against it.
what we should be against this neo-colonial political leadership which would like to stake claims to sections of society by dividing them along the lines of caste/ religion .

I feel reservation per se is not a bad idea but the way it is being used as a political plank is surely bad. I feel reservations should stay but there should be proper implementation and monitoring system so that it flows down to the people who really need it than the our friends who dont need it but still avail facility of it.
I feel reservation should not be caste or community specific but should be based on more rational grounds like regional, economic and educational parameters....
I strongly feel had reservations not been here, Rung Society would not have come up so fast. Ask first generation of our society what hardships they faced and how they managed to meet both ends to feel the real pinch of deprivation......

Guys Guys Guys.........Today we might be feeling lose of ur selfstream, selfrespect when using these crutches.....Ofcourse we must be becoz we don't comprehend d
real concept of reservation yet we use it...questionaire---
1.Why govt. is giving us reservation?
2.What can we do for this system?
3.How much will be enough quata?
A..Reservation is given to any community to make them capable to commpete with normal ppl considering their social, mental n financial difficiency.....Laws were
made in 50's n ofcourse it hav so much flaws n we r d moderators of it not becouse we r taking reservation but we r not doing doing our duty.....Reservation
community ko isiliye milata hai ......taki agar ek byakti safal ho to apne logo ko aage badane ke liye sahyog karen n sab log aage bade....hamarey elders ne agar iska
use karke achchi post li aur apne pichade logo ko bhul gaye hai(apna kartavya bhul gaye hai)aur hum naye log bina kuch soche samaje isaka use kar rahe hai.. aaj iss
reservation system ne hamarey samaj ko do bhago me bant diya hai...ek taraf dharchula aur villages ki woh log hai jinake maa bhap unhe pichhade/bigade huye
mahaul me padaane ke liye majboor hai aur dhusari tarf woh log jo unke liye di gayi govt. ki suvidha ka upyog to kar rahe hai lekin unake prati govt dwara diye
kartavya bhul gaye hai...aaj agar reservation lena na lena me baat aa hi gayi hai to main kah dun..reservation lene ka hak usse hi hai jo isaka use karke abhi se hi isake
actual bhagidar ko kam se kam ise use karane layak banane me sahayata karen otherwise missuse kare iss reservation ka aur chupchap muh chhupa kar bhaithe
rahe.......koi adhikar unhe reservation band karne ki baat karne ki aur ek samajdhar rung kahlane ka......reservation kam jyada hai iska evaluate hame karane ka koi
adhikar nahi kyun ki hum isaki avasykta ke liye bilkhate rote logo ka hak chhinkar sirf apna swarth jankar life bana rahe hai...kitana chahiye kya chahiye yeh to uanki
awasyakata jab unko mile tab pata chaegi...

I realised all written is not fair, my comment also.
so here I'm with..
Part two::
yea..
firstly:: I dint read full news. I had read only that its increased to 49.5%, Pankaj told me that we r in same condition means 7.5%,(OBC is incrsd to 22.5%-27%)
ok
Secondly::
After readin all comments..my view is changed now..{jara dair se chamki..
}
OBC people are really needed more.
7.5% is already enough fr us but it is really required.
Not all those who are studyin in cities(means good school).
I agree, as Kulo bhai has written abt Garbyang n Gunji school.
But why dont we think abt gen. cat people out there, they too are needed who are in same condition as Rung.
Okay leave them.
as pankaj has written(apana kartavya bhool gaye..GOOD POINT)
Where are those people who have already taken chance n they are in good position now.
I dont know, what'll be I doin aftr gettin a job.
May be, I too will become like our elders "RungMugs".
n yea as Krish Hya has written, compare with other class mates he also was good.
I'm really poor in acads..
, because I dont study like others.
But some of reserve cat. people are on top10 position, in my batch bczz they do study.
Even here UPbrd merit holder(under20, gen cat.) are in very low rankin condition, beczz they study very less in collg.
All I can say is..Its all abt politics.
And criteria of reservation sud change.{n its not goin to change..
}
Beczz people of Dharchula need it (whether they r Rung or not).
So I prayin, for all Good.

Oh? dear "yarti kulo" What a nice feed you have put for me (Lukchei) in yarti kulo. Realy, your vision is crystal clear and practical. i hope people like you defenetely nourish the thousends of lukche of rung raju serving the food of thoughts and lesson to these bright rung guys in your Yarti kulo. i think this is the matter of complex
of being reserve category among general catogory coleagues.
Dear guys yuo shoud feel proud of being rung/sauka tribal , reservation is either buiseness of politicals or social obligation of govnment ,you enjoy it like a benificial buiseness and pass on the trics/tips of success (like yuo) to our lukchei (youngers). You should know there is a long que of general category community who seeks for.
After Reservation since sixtiese we alway finds grown-up trends , there is no sign of declines of quality and capablity in all respects except rungness.

pheewww....hmm..
comments, bigger than blog..
I am really in confusion how to reply?.. the blog was a instant reaction towards the posts a have read in forums...
Thanks to all, for putting your valuable opinion and for enlightning me.
well after reading all ..wat I say is :
(I have a mixed conclusion here)..
no one is wrong here...All have a strong fact behind their statement.
*You OR me cant decide wat we need wat we don't....there are many, who need it.. am I right?
*There is nothing wrong If we grab the opportunity and facilty we are given.....( ..Sher ke aage maans ka tukda phekoge to woh jhaptega hi..)
Govt is never gonna reduce or eliminate this reservation system.....we don't use it, we leave it for another community.
*As pankaj said KARTAVYA is the most important thing here...
Khud safal ho gaye to apne mein hi mast na rahkar...doosaro ko bhi rasta dikhaon...one should really think about it..and always be there to help the ppl...not only apne bhai-biradar...but every single who need it.
*And last but not the least..Don't always rely on reservation only....explore the each and every field around us...it's true that i academics rungs are always second to none ..but God knows what happens when it comes to competetions..all bcoz ppl know they can get it ..with out any hardwork.
ONE THING I CAN NEVER DIGEST IS.... today the competetion is between two groups within a community...one who live in cities, have all the facility and other who lives in villages don't even know what are IITs and RECs...
Who does win?....but...I don't blame anyone, everyone is free to choose their way....they have resourses they utilise it.
and finally ..on the govt's recent decesion to increase the reserved quota.. ..general people bhi to insaan hai unke moonh se niwaala chheen lena kahaan ka tark hai?

i totally agree wid pankaj da!!!
now its our turn!! when we hav taken the advantage, than its our duty serve our people and make them introduce to outside world of our village. its our duty to help them in each and every case so that they can also come up in their life....
so guys u should not at all feel ashame rather do something for the benefit of our community!!!
i am surprised that our elders feel ashame of this....
the points given by pankaj garbyal are really worth to be noticed by everyone!!!

1) i think in that direction rung mung have done a good job as each rung has taken inspiration from people who have succeeded ahead of themselves.
2) RKS was established with precisely sam notion
3) advice that some of us have been giving to people to look for different career choices is in the same line where the rung mung back home also may have a good chance of building a career based on their skills and not merely following set patterns of education and jobs alone
4) everything we do today is an attempt to give back something to society but maybe we are not getting there yet so young ones let us know what you have in mind... as we need to pool in resources of all kinds to achieve the goals of greater good

hey satyavan i have a different view on this and i think its pretty late to be picking up on a topic long past its prime. however i feel that the govt of india is justified in bringing about or rather nurturing an environment of equal opportunity for the unprivileged or underprivileged. even highly developed countries like USA have reservation for the underprivileged blacks and even in the private sector if i am not mistaken.(i think its 50% not sure).
The issue of 49% is not really an issue as the OBC population is much more than 30% of the indian population. Statistically and probability speaking the OBC in higher education like IIts and IIms do represent at least 30% going by probability.so even without the govt giving them reservation they manage to get there. so the question of meritocracy being compromised doesnt arise.so i dont think the govt is wrong if it plans to give them a 22.5% reservation.Only the creme of the OBC will continue to get admissions in premier institues.
also in the olden times higher education was only the privilage of the higher rungs of the society but evry one has the right to higher education as we all are honest tax payers. The citizens right to higher education is compromised because of the limited resources of the government. The governemnt is just trying to even out these limited resources amongst all the sections of the society in order to provide social justice and to this end the government is trying to constantly increase seats in iims and iits whcih is a good thing as more and more people will be able to benefit from this.

If this bill passes what wud be the condition of these institutions, even I said if we r havin talent then we sud fight with general people.
n I hav seen some reserved cat. people(not rung) who fight with gen. n they get a good rank.
Two thigs::
Firstly:: they are showing their talent
Secondly:: they r givin chance to other reserved cat. people who all really need this reservation.
